Can a father who has been estranged from the mother for 11 years and only recently become sour still have the right to knock on her door to pick up their son?
My sons father and I have been split up since my son was a baby, for almost 11yrs now. Things have become sour in recent months as he has applied for a court order and is attempting to move my sons school to a different Borough. I do not need advice about that, but i feel the back story is relevant.. What I need advice about is this- I no longer want him to knock on my front door and stand inside my porch to collect my son. For the last year I have been dropping my son to his house from the car and my son independently walks in (11.5yr old, very capable and I watch him go inside). Would I be within my rights to request he stays in his car when picking/dropping or stays at the end of the path or do I have to allow him to knock on my door etc? Thank you

NQ. You don’t have to allow him on your property.

NQ - but going through childrens proceedings . You do not have to allow him to approach your door. I would send a polite email saying what you would like the new arrangements to be . Keep it child focused and non emotional. All of these things can be written into the court order when you finally get it . The key is in the detail so it's watertight with no ambiguity
