Do I need a new deed poll certificate if my old one is from 1996 and the solicitors it's from is now closed down?
Hello, I sent off for my daughters passport and didn't pay for the tracked return of ID. (Stupid I know!) My sons birth certificate came back within 2 weeks but my birth certificate, my daughters birth certificate and my deed pole certificate have now gone missing. The passport office said they marked the items ready to send back on the 4th May so they should have been here by now. I know I can get a replacement birth certificate for £30 (3 day turn around because I have a job interview that I need it for) My question is this, my Deedpole certificate is from 1996. The solicitors is now closed down and the lady that did it has now passed away. Do I absolutely need a new deed poll certificate? If so, how do I get one now? I've since been married and divorced and want to apply for my provisional licence but I don't have my Deepdale certificate anymore and I don't even know if I need it anymore? I'm sorry if it's not made any sense. Thanks for your time. Kind regards.

NQ: Do you have your passport? That should likely suffice for your licence.

NQ it is taking weeks for documents to be sent back. I paid for tracked and it was at least to 4 weeks after the passport arrived before the documents did. Deed poll is just a witnessed statement. You can download one off the gov website and get a couple of people to witness it. Your marriage cert should have the name on if you had it before you got married so you can show you used it.
