Does the Chairman of a consortium of bowls clubs have the ability to set rules independently and are members obligated to sign the rules?
I need some advice on the powers of the Chairman of a consortium of bowls clubs. The consortium is made up of 2 bowls clubs and the board is made up of 50:50 from each club. A new set of “rules” have been sent out by the Chairman. The rules set out that any member who breaks them will be disciplined and/or removed from the club(s). The issue is that there seems to have been little discussion about the rules being implemented and my question is does the Chairman have the ability to act independently in setting these rules out and are members obligated to sign the rules, as requested? Thanks!
