Does the daughter have any rights to request the dealer covers the cost of repair for an oil leak that occurred after she bought the car?
My daughter bought a 2nd hand car from a dealer 2 weeks ago, with the Easter break she has only just got it in to a garage to have it checked over. They have discovered an oil leak which has leaked onto the cam belt and have advised that the cam belt needs to be replaced as the oil will cause it to slip and deteriorate. The car had a full service including oil change in Feb which is in the service book and it is assumed that the oil has been leaking since then. Does she have any rights to request the dealer covers the cost of repair? Thanks

Nq- I'm guessing it's still under warranty ? And I'm pretty sure they could say the leak could of started after the car was taken away or if the leak wasn't mentioned in the add then it could be miss sold

NQ but I Bought car recently- Her claim will be directly from the dealer. Since 2015, people buying used cars have been protected by the Consumer Rights Act, which provides a statutory warranty for used cars bought from a dealer. https:// www.car.co.uk/ car-warranties/ faqs/ used-car-warrant ies/ what-is-statutor y-warranty-on-a -used-car
