Does the DWP need to be paid back if their detachments of earnings have been coming out of the individual's wages monthly, as shown on payslips?
I don’t know if this is legal advice I need but I had a detachment of earnings and every month it has been coming out of my wages. This is shown on my payslip. A year later I get the same letter from dwp I called them to say there must be a mistake because I’ve been paying this from work. They checked and have never had a payment. Do work need to pay me this back. I want to pay dwp directly myself

Nq, if you call dwp and set up a direct debit the aoe can be stopped, I don’t know about getting money back from your employer though

NQ, you need to question your employer about where the money went and also inform DWP that your employer have been garnishing your wages. How did your employer know to garnish your wages? Normally they would get a letter from DWP with the information
