How to obtain POA for a parent who has a house in Spain, an English bank and passport, and how to begin a transfer from Spain to England for medical care?
Hello, I am lookig. For someone who can help me with a very complex case that includes healthcare and travel? Long story short:- my mum has own a house and lived in Spain for around 15 years she still however has a English bank and passport. My mum suffered a brain aneurysm and a stroke at the age of 58 in august. She has been poorly and continues to recover slowly. (Much more details but trying to keep it short.) We need to know:- 1) how to obtain POA? 2) how to begin a transfer from Spain to England ro continue her care? 3) how to make a formal complaint and or medical negligence claim? 4) is she still entitled to care over here via the NHS? Please please help we are really stuck xx Thank you in advance ❤️❤️

Solicitor (no longer in practice). This isn't my area but in general, your mum can make a LPA for finances and/or health only if she currently has mental capacity ie sufficient understanding. I don't know if any such LPA would be recognised in Spain. https:// www.gov.uk/ power-of-attorne y Sorry, I can't help with the second or third questions, you would need advice from someone familiar with Spanish medical negligence law if you want to pursue a claim there The position re the NHS will depend on whether the intention is for your mum to return here permanently. You can read the details on this link https:// www.thefrygroup. co.uk/insights/ are-british-expa ts-entitled-to- nhs-treatment/ I hope you can find the other answers you need, it sounds a really difficult situation.

Nq. I know the answer to question 2 if your mum isnt fit enough to be driven back by your self then it would be a private medical services to either drive her back by ambulance or it would be a flight with trained medics but either way your looking at 13 to 16 grand only way i know this is my friends husband owns his own company doing this..there are pages on fb expats in spain you could join a group and someone on there might be able to tell you if there is a LPA equivelant or if it would work for here
