Is it legal for a finance company to change the finance agreement into one person's name without consent from both parties?
Just looking for advice on what I think may be fraudulent activity from a firm. My parents took out finance with a company, which was meant to be in both of their names. They both signed documents confirming this and had to sign a form for the bank to release the finance to the company. They’ve since had issues and are trying to get issues rectified through the finance company due to non compliance and negligence on the firm’s part. It has since come to light that the firm changed the finance solely into my dad’s name without consent from my parents. The payments to the finance company are still coming out of my mum’s bank account. Is what they’ve done legal? They’re also refusing to provide a VAT invoice, which my parents have been told they should be provided with if VAT is charged.
