Is it possible for one person to sell a house without the other person knowing if they are both on the mortgage?

After watching snippets of the new series 'our house' where the husband sells the house without the wife knowing, it has made me a bit paranoid. I like to think my husband wouldn't do this but I also feel I dont know him anymore and it is obviously in the back of my mind or I wouldnt be asking here if it is something that is legally possible. Both our names are on the mortgage, we bought it together aprox 12years ago and it is jointly in both our names. Is there a way of me protecting myself from this or have I been drawn into believing fiction? Thanks for your help!

NQ but after a Radio 4 you and yours program in which a complete stranger managed to sell someone’s house I went to the Land Registry site and set up an account to receive notifications if any enquiries are made on our property. Recommend you do that at least.

Solicitor - your husband would need to be prepared to commit fraud and have a negligent or fraudulent solicitor to assist him. So while it wouldn't be impossible for him to sell your house without your knowledge, it wouldn't be lawful (or easy) either.
