What are the legal rights for a mother to stop her 8-year-old daughter from seeing her father if the daughter does not want to see him?
Advise please. I have two daughters with my ex partner, court order in place for my youngest to see her dad every other weekend. Eldest is old enough to say no and she has and hasn’t spoken to him since 2020. My youngest who is 8 is now stating she doesn’t want to see her dad, saying he shouts at her, he hardly makes any contact between the weekends and will literally take what my 8 yr old says! So if she says I’m tired he will reply ok and ignore her until the next time he contacts her. She has told school that she doesn’t want to see her dad and when asked why, she gave a list of reasons some I knew some I didn’t, as a mum I’m finding it hard to know what to do. Do I stop it and wait to see what happens? I’m so confused and not sure which way I should go, I can’t talk with him as he is very abusive so I try and avoid contact. She’s only 8 should be enjoying life and not stressing that she doesn’t want to go to her dads? What are my legal rights please
