Would you pay higher stamp duty if you were to purchase a 2 bed flat to let, as opposed to if you were to move in and live there?
good afternoon i wanted to know i am currently living in my flat and wondered ive been here 3 years but would like to sell so there is no tax to pay but i would like to buy a 2 bed fllat to let and move in with family would i pay stamp duty at higher rate because im not moving in or as a normal purchase as it would be the only property i own thank you in advance 😊

Llb lpc The short answer is yes. This will be classed as buy to let property. Higher stamp duty and minimum 20% deposit will be required by many mortgage providers
