Biography

I am a Partner and Head of Family Team at Hodders Solicitors having joined in in April 2019 after after running a specialist Family Law practice for a number of years.

I have a nationwide client base and have been recognised for my talents as a Family Lawyer and became a member of Resolution and the Law Society’s Family Law Panel. I am also a qualified Resolution Family Mediator.

With a successful track record and a professional manner, I pride myself on being able to take a sensitive, constructive and non-confrontational approach to negotiate settlements whist maintaining the ability to be vigorous and influential when required. It is through years of rigorous analysis and preparation which has enabled me to hone these skills, much to the benefit of my clients.

My specialist areas of law include:

Family Matrimonial – Complex Family & Matrimonial Matters including those with an international element Domestic violence Defended divorces Full range of Financial Remedy cases involving both “big money” and “small money” cases Freezing Orders Asian Financial Remedy cases including adjudication of third party determination of beneficial interest of family members Short marriages involving a spouse from abroad Children Matters including Child Arrangement Orders under s.8 of the Children Act 1989 and emergency applications Family Mediation including MIAMS (Mediation Information and Assessment Meetings)

I have a wealth of experience in all aspects of family law and have also obtained many positive outcomes for clients in Asian marriages, especially with regards to dowries and cultural issues. I have often been praised by the District Judges in the Kent County Courts, for her preparation and high quality representation.

Immigration – I am also an Immigration Specialist and have practised Immigration Law since 1993. The extensive experience gained over the years has provided me with the requisite knowledge and experience needed to achieve clients’ objectives.

I have been instructed on a matter before the Special Immigration Appeals Commission (SIAC) which is the Superior Court of Record in the UK dealing with cases of National Security and also matters relating to persons deprived of British Citizenship. As well as achieving a successful outcome for my client before SIAC, I have also been successful in many other high profile immigration cases, asylum matters, nationality decisions and policy matters, including human rights issues and applicability of EU Law.

This has included Judicial Reviews, Statutory Review, Appeals before the First-Tier and Upper Tribunals and appeals to the Court of Appeal.
