Kate Lacey

Kate Lacey is a Senior Associate Solicitor in our Family Law Department specialising in Divorce, Finances on divorce, pre-nuptial agreements, cohabitation agreements, civil partnership dissolution, private child law, private adoption and special guardianship orders.

Kate has worked in Family Law since 2001 and has nearly 20 years experience successfully handling Divorce cases and Family Law proceedings in England & Wales. Kate specialises in high net worth divorce cases, consent orders and pre and post-nuptial agreements. Kate has a versatile approach and will apply the most appropriate methods in accordance of her clients needs from round table negotiations to fully contested litigation. Kate can also help with uncontested divorce and clean break orders for divorcing couples who are looking to sever their financial ties to one another.

Kate is a member of Resolution and is a collaboratively trained Solicitor through Resolution. She has also undertaken her mediation training through National Family Mediation. The needs of her clients are paramount, Kate works closely with clients and other professionals as required including actuaries, accountants and valuers. Kate is a committee member of East Sussex Resolution. Resolution members are committed to a code of practice which promotes a constructive approach to family issues. They follow a non-confrontational approach to family matters to minimise conflict and consider the needs of the whole family espcially those of any children.

Kate qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2006 going on to qualify as a Solicitor in 2015 and joined Stephen Rimmer LLP in 2018. Kate has also trained as a mediator with National Family Mediation. She can undertake mediation on all family issues and MIAM appointments.
