Biography

Visiting a solicitor should be, welcoming and friendly experience, which is why I pride myself on offering a sympathetic, professional environment, based on listening and empathy.

It’s important to me that clients have time to explain their problems so that I gain an understanding of their circumstances so that I can offer holistic and appropriate solutions.

Many people come to me looking to write a Will. If I understand what has prompted them to take this important step, I can prepare them properly for their future, often helping save money for themselves and the next generation, for example I can ring fence half of their property to protect it from huge care fees that they might suffer in future.

It can be uncomfortable talking about events but we should all prepare for changes in our lives such as having children, buying a house and getting married etc. Some unfortunate experiences happen as well such as sickness, accidents or sudden death. I can talk to this from my own experience, so have real empathy for my clients when helping them choose the best option to protect their loved ones.

Being prepared can make those difficult periods easier, that is why I recommend Estate Planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney and having Wills to ensure that you are ready for any eventuality.

Many people are prompted by a major life change such as having young children, getting married or an increase in assets to make a Will. The onset of dementia should be a prompt to create Lasting Powers of Attorney, while you will need a Grant of Probate to sell property when you lose a loved one. Preparing for the future before any of these difficult life events happen, is always a good choice.

Visiting a solicitor needs to be a positive experience with a warm welcome, where you know you’ll be listened to and be assured of expert advice that meets your needs for now and into the future.

I’m proud to offer just such a service at Elizabeth Middleton Solicitors.
